Your CV

Your CV (curriculum vitae) is essential when you apply for most jobs.

Don't put down stuff that is untrue. People do check. Even if they don't check at first, if your CV has has blatent untruths regarding employment or work experience that is linked to your new job, then you can be dismissed once these untruths are uncovered.

A CV should be a neat and tidy document. If you cannot present a clear and tidy CV then the potential employer is probably entitled to assume that all your work will match your CV!

Don't leave gaps in your employment history, especially if the gap covers an employment that went wrong or even even if sacked from it. The gaps will stand out like a sore thumb! If you were not working during that period then explain why you were not working.

Be positive about your previous jobs and your skills and your experiences. Show how you have grown and developed from your previous jobs and experiences.

Don't complain about your previous employers. You don't want to come over as a person who whinges about everything
