Skills and Abilities

Fewer jobs now seem to be available for people, of all ages, who don't have skills of some sort or another. And people need to have certificates or examinination passes to show that they know what they are doing.

Computers are now part of many peoples working life. People are now expected to be computer literate and be comfortable with using a keyboard, with word processing programs, with spreadsheets, with using email etc. Networking is essential to maintain contacts around the globe, and to promote your organisation.

If you are not comfortable with a computer then go on a course and learn! The ability to use a computer is becoming essential. There are lots of courses around, both online and in local schools, colleges etc.

Use the local courses to improve your communication skillls. Learning a foreign language could get give you an advantage over other people; at the very least it could make your holidays more interesting!
