Utility Bills - Water and Sewerage

There are a number of things that you can do to keep in control:
 1. Know what bills you have coming in and when they are due. They may be monthly, quarterly or some other frequency
 2. Check your meter readings! Try to make sure that you are actually being billed for the correct usage. If the estimate is too low then pay a bit extra to avoid going into arrears.
 3. See if there is a saving for paying the bills promptly
4. Check your bills to see if the direct debit payment was increased by the utility company without your knowledge. If it has been and your usage has not increased then complain immediately and get the increase removed. It is your money, it would be much more at home in your bank account!

The Water bill vary according to your usage.
That means that you can save money by using the service in an economical way.
Don't run taps unnecessary

Tip Check that your household insurance policy covers you for broken pipes that may occur on your property. You will be charged for the water usage if these pipes break, and the charges can be very expensive! You can take out a separate insurance from your water supplier.
