Utility Bills - Gas and Electric

There are a number of things that you can do to keep in control:
 1. Know what bills you have coming in and when they are due. They may be monthly, quarterly or some other frequency
 2. The utility bills can vary quite a lot each time you get a bill. For example the bulk of heating costs are incurred during the winter. Often the bills are based on estimated readings and this can cause you a real problem if they are underestimates and you suddenly get hit by a big bill six months later!
 3. Check your meter readings! Try to make sure that you are actually being billed for the correct usage. If the estimate is too low then pay a bit extra to avoid going into arrears.
 4. See if there is a saving for paying the bills promptly
 5. Plan ahead - you know that the winter bills will be higher than the summer bills!

The Gas and Electric bills vary according to your usage. That means that you can save money by using the service in an economical way.
